Candle Care & Safety Guide
First Burn
Create an even melt pool
On the first burn, allow the candle to burn for long enough to create an even melt pool across the entire surface. This prevents tunneling (where the candle burns down the center and leaves a deep well around the edges).
Burn time
Generally, aim for a burn time of 2-3 hours for the first burn to achieve an even melt pool.
Subsequent Burns
Trim the wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (6mm) with clean wick trimmers or sharp scissors.
Burn time
Burn candles in 2-3 hour increments.
Avoid drafts
Keep candles away from draughts, vents, and fans, which can cause uneven burning.
Safety Precautions
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
Burn candles on a heat-resistant surface.
Never burn a candle all the way down to the bottom of the container.
Extinguish candles completely before leaving the room or going to sleep.
Do not move a burning candle.
Keep burning candles away from flammable materials.
Storage
Store candles in a cool, dark, and dry place.
Keep candles away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
